Transport
Our transport related research and consultancy is primarily focussed on transport markets as in the course of the advancing liberalization of rail transport and the intensification of intra- and intermodal competition rail markets attract increased attention from a political, regulatory, business and social point of view.
In particular, separation of rail infrastructure from rail transport business, privatization of rail undertakings, financing of rail infrastructure investments, provision of public transport services, extension of passenger rights, and improvement of rail competitiveness are discussed. Moreover, regulation of rail infrastructure access has become more prominent due to the amendments of the legal framework and the devolution of powers to the Federal Network Agency.
Our research activities focus on aspects of competition and regulatory economics. Moreover, we deal with the developments, structures, and conditions of competition in transport markets, as well as with corporate strategies. This research provides the basis for our transport related consulting service.
