"5Guarantee" project launched

The "5Guarantee" project team has successfully participated in the 5G.NRW funding competition.

The aim behind the full project title "Agile system for end-to-end performance guarantees in local 5G networks fully embedded in the industry 4.0 process landscape" is to address open questions and missing empirical values around the topic of 5G campus networks in an industrial context.

Over a total period of three years, the project will analyse which application-specific potentials 5G networks provide for industry, which promises can actually be realised with 5G in practice and which requirements the new applications will involve. To achieve this, a comprehensive evaluation and control system for 5G campus networks is being developed to objectively compare 5G solutions in a multi-phase approach in practice.

For this purpose, a strong interdisciplinary consortium consisting of TU Dortmund University, Ruhr University Bochum, PHYSEC, Weidmüller, Miele, comnovo and WIK-Consult is joining forces. In its role as coordinator of the consortium, WIK-Consult will manage the overall project and work on work package 7 on acceptance, stabilisation of the results of the work, networking and innovation transfer.

Current information on the project (e.g. the kick-off presentation) is available for download in the download area and will be continuously updated. There are also links to the 5G.NRW competition itself as well as to the 5G.NRW Competence Centre.

The "5Guarantee" project is part of the 5G.NRW funding competition and is supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
