Digital platforms as an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises - relevance, applications, knowledge transfer

Digital platforms are currently changing markets across all industries. Possible applications and opportunities offered by platforms and ways to promote their application are analyzed in the Mittelstand-Digital study "Digital platforms as an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises". The experts interviewed for the survey emphasize above all the growing importance of digital platforms for SMEs, both in the B2C and B2B segment. More than 60 percent of the experts surveyed see great potential in optimizing logistics costs with the help of platforms. Almost 70 percent consider more targeted advertising to be a very great opportunity. However, the experts recommend that companies should also question their own business models in the course of development and adapt them if necessary.
