Telefonieren in Deutschland

Nr. 97 / Oktober 1992 Summary A representative general inquiry in private households, which is up to now unique in Germany, is the basis for reviewing telephone behaviour of the Germans. Under which conditions and circumstances does a telephone call start? Why do people call? Which performances or acitivities are being carried out by telephone? How do people estimate their telephone calls, and who are the partners? Finally: What does telephone and telephoning mean for people? On the basis of research data and literature research the author contributes towards answering these questions. The ranking of motives and activities is worked out by numbers and duration of telephone calls. The essay finishes by categorising the benefit of telephoning. Only German language version available.
