In August 2020, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism of the Republic of Austria commissioned WIK-Consult and WIFO to prepare a study on the topic of open access networks (OAN) in Austria. The aim of the study is to present the status quo of the development of OAN in Austria, to identify possible unused potentials and undesirable developments as well as to derive recommendations in order to support the development towards an intensive use of gigabit-capable infrastructures and thus the development of Austria towards a gigabit society.
