Short profile

Dr Christian Wernick studied business administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and subsequently received his doctorate from Prof. Dr Dres. h.c. Arnold Picot at the Institute for Information, Organisation and Management. During his work as a research assistant to Professor Picot, he participated in the European Communications Council and spent a three-month research stay with Prof. Martin Cave at the University of Warwick.

Following his doctorate, Dr Wernick worked for WIK-Consult between September 2007 and June 2010 as a senior consultant in the department "NGN and Internet Economics". As a consultant for WIK, he dealt with various regulatory economics, antitrust law and strategic issues and advised clients from Germany and abroad. The focus of his consulting work was, among other things, the topics of network neutrality, next generation networks and next generation access.

In July 2010, Dr Wernick moved to 1&1 Internet AG. As Expert Key Account Manager in 1&1's Carrier Management, Dr Wernick was responsible for negotiating purchasing conditions for fixed-line wholesale products as well as the strategic management and further development of business relationships with 1&1's alternative wholesale partners until September 2015. In addition, Dr Wernick supported the Management Board of 1&1 in projects relating to the selection of the optimal depth of value creation in view of current technology, market and competitor trends, as well as in the initiation of new partnerships and the establishment of new business models.  

In October 2015, Dr Wernick returned to WIK-Consult and has since headed the "Business and Strategy" department.
