The meta-study evaluates current studies, guidelines, projects and events in the second half of 2022 on the topic of smart cities and digital regions.

The study shows that the topic of climate change is increasingly in the focus of municipalities in addition to internal administrative digitization. Digital solutions are important for optimizing the existing infrastructure and tapping into new efficiency potential. Smart city projects, for example, enable resource savings in green maintenance, emission reductions in mobility and better protection against extreme weather events. Cooperation between municipalities and start-ups can help to develop and implement innovative solutions for climate-friendly and resilient cities and regions. Exchange and networking, such as at the Smart Country Convention, help municipalities and start-ups get to know each other and come together better.
